What’s New in the Akuity Platform: September 2024 Feature Update

The Akuity Platform has been updated once again with new features and improvements. Here’s a quick summary of what has been added and how it can boost your experience on the Akuity Platform.
Introducing: Kubernetes-Native Visibility Tool
We recently announced our new Kubernates-native Visibility Tool, a brand new feature that enhances the visibility capabilities of the Akuity Platform. Our visibility tool offers a collection of use-case-specific dashboards that empower platform administrators and engineers to monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters across the entire organization. Kargo Recap
Kargo is a next-generation Continuous Promotion platform for Kubernetes.
We're currently developing various new features for Kargo, so keep an eye on our Kargo Roadmap to see what major features we’re working on. Coming up is Kargo v0.9.0, which has a focus on providing more flexibility in promotion mechanisms.

Custom Domain Names for Kargo and Argo CD Instances
The Akuity Platform now supports custom domain names for both Kargo and Argo CD Instances. By default, Kargo and Argo CD instances’ UI are accessible at `<instance id>.cd.akuity.cloud`, but you can now set a custom domain prefix for each instance by changing the value of the Custom Domain field. Alternatively, you can create a CNAME record in your DNS provider that points to `<instance id>.cd.akuity.cloud`. Check out our External Access Documentation to learn more.
Cluster Agent Auto Scaling
Try this on for size – the Akuity Platform now allows you to enable cluster agent auto-scaling for your managed clusters. This feature will automatically scale the cluster agent requests based on the size of the managed cluster. Users can go into Settings on their managed cluster and enable Auto under Agent Size. Save yourself the time and resources by using Cluster Agent Auto-Scaling.
Workspaces and Teams
Too many cooks in the kitchen? Previously, everyone in an organization had access to all resources, but now you can group resources and users within your organization with Workspaces and Teams. You can now give members custom roles and permissions, enhancing security and efficiency in your organization.
We’ve also made various user interface enhancements such as improving the organization members invite form, and added new audit log filters. In addition, you can now forward audit and usage events to external systems using webhooks. Managing your organization with Akuity just got easier.
Notifications
Want to be in the loop on more new Akuity Platform features? Want to be notified right away about important cloud-hosted instances events? You can now enable notifications on the Akuity Platform.
Customize what notifications you would like to subscribe to by clicking the bell icon on the top right of the Akuity Platform user interface and click Notifications Center. From there, click on Settings and you can pick and choose how you receive notifications and what you’d like to be notified about. Give it a try!
