Akuity at KubeCon + ArgoCon North America 2026: Workshop, Keynote, Talks, and Happy Hour
Akuity is heading to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2026 and ArgoCon in Salt Lake City, November 9–12, at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
The team behind Argo CD and Kargo will be there all week, and we’ve packed the schedule: a hands-on workshop, an ArgoCon keynote, three KubeCon sessions, and a happy hour. Come say hi!
Meet the Argo CD and Kargo Team at Booth 165
Meet the team, pick up some swag, catch a live demo of the Akuity Platform, and bring your GitOps and environment promotion questions to the engineers who build Argo CD and Kargo.
Akuity at ArgoCon: Nov 9
Hands-on Kargo + Argo CD Workshop
📅 Mon, Nov 9 · ⏰ 8:30 AM–12:00 PM or 1:30–5:00 PM · 📍 Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown, 131 S 300 W
Learn to use Kargo with Argo CD to promote changes across Kubernetes, Terraform, VMs, and cloud services, gated by the checks you define.
You’ll manage Kargo and Argo CD from one interface, standardize promotions, and replace custom promotion scripts. Taylor Thomas, Staff Software Engineer at Akuity and CNCF Ambassador, leads the session.
ArgoCon attendees: choose the afternoon session to catch the morning keynotes. Space is limited.
ArgoCon Sponsored Keynote: Pets, Cattle, and Herds: Fleet-Scale Continuous Delivery the GitOps Way
📅 Mon, Nov 9 · ⏰ 9:45 AM · 📍 Salt Palace, Level 1, Room 151 🎤 Jesse Suen, Akuity co-founder
Teams now run a cluster per store, a cluster per customer, or thousands of clusters they can’t manage by hand. Jesse Suen covers what changes when deployment targets reach that scale: where Argo CD’s ApplicationSets and Progressive Syncs hold up, where they break, and when to pair GitOps with automation. Attendees get a vendor-neutral framework for continuous delivery at fleet scale.
Introducing OCI Webhook Support in Argo CD: From Polling to Real-Time
📅 Mon, Nov 9 · ⏰ 2:05–2:30 PM · 📍 Salt Palace, Level 1, Room 151
🎤 Nitish Kumar, Akuity, Surabhi Mishra, American Express
More teams now store Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests in OCI registries instead of Git, but registries like GHCR and Docker Hub haven’t offered first-class webhooks, leaving Argo CD users stuck with polling or manual refreshes.
This session covers the design and implementation of Argo CD’s new OCI webhook support, starting with GHCR and with Docker Hub on the way. You’ll see how to configure registry webhooks, connect them to Argo CD, and trigger secure, real-time reconciliation, plus the pitfalls to avoid in production.
Akuity Happy Hour with the Creators of Argo CD and Kargo
📅 Mon, Nov 9 · ⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM · 📍 Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown, 131 S 300 W
Drinks and bites with the Akuity team after ArgoCon. The first 50 attendees get the first three chapters of Kargo in Action from Manning, with a chance to have it signed by the authors.
Akuity Talks at KubeCon Day 1: Nov 10
You Don’t Have to Choose: Argo and Flux Are Friends!
📅 Tue, Nov 10 · ⏰ 2:50–3:20 PM · 📍 Salt Palace, Level 2, Room 255 BC
🎤 Emily Chen and Leigh Capili
Argo and Flux are usually framed as an either/or choice. This session shows how to use them together, grounded in OpenGitOps principles: Argo CD’s application-centric control plane and visibility alongside Flux’s modular controllers and native Helm lifecycle management.
Kubernetes Anonymous: Confessions of Kubernetes Cargo Cultists
📅 Tue, Nov 10 ·
⏰ 3:40–4:10 PM ·
📍 Salt Palace, Level 1, Grand Ballroom BDF
🎤 Taylor Thomas (Akuity) and Brooks Townsend
Cloud Native Experience track, all levels. Taylor and Brooks have worked with Kubernetes since the early days, from maintaining Helm and building Krustlet to provisioning clusters with Cluster API. They left for WebAssembly, tired of watching everything get forced into Kubernetes, and came back having learned that both extremes are traps.
Join them for the red flags that say Kubernetes is the wrong fit, where it shines, and a middle path of cloud native over Kubernetes native, with lessons from wasmCloud, NATS, Cilium, and OPA.
Kargo at KubeCon Day 2: Nov 11
We Have GitOps at Home: How Meta Went from Terraform on Cron to GitOps for AI Infra
📅 Wed, Nov 11 · ⏰ 10:11–10:16 AM · 📍 Salt Palace, Level 1, Hall DE
🎤 Shaun Hopper, Meta, Phong Nguyen, Meta
About 15 engineers at Meta run roughly 100 Kubernetes clusters for AI research and inference. With app delivery running through a monolithic Terraform pipeline, even a one-line Helm values change could take a full working day. This talk shows how Meta handed app delivery to Kargo and Argo CD, so each app ships independently and routine updates go live in minutes, and what it took to connect GitOps to Meta’s in-house version control, an app “order form,” and multi-tenant Argo CD.
Akuity Talks at KubeCon Day 3: Nov 12
Tell Us How You’re Using Argo CD: A Community ContribFest Session
📅 Thu, Nov 12 · ⏰ 11:00 AM–12:20 PM · 📍 Salt Palace, Level 2, Room 255 D
🎤 Nitish Kumar, Argo CD Maintainer, Akuity
A hands-on session on how teams run Argo CD in production: usage patterns, repository structures, and operational approaches. Bring your setup and questions, and help shape the project’s direction.
